This is the 1st album of Brett release in 2002 in South Africa by USM Records. The deeper sound series was a physical compilation featuring the best South African DJ's between 2002 and 2006 featuring artist like Lady Lea, Troydon, Coco Loco, Dean Full and Brett Jackson...

This album was a birth for Brett in the deep house scene in South African. He released after that several album & compilation like : Soul Select series with Mimi Kesaris, The Dig Deeper series, and on the Soul Candi compilation sold up to 80'000 copies. He also became license manager for Soul Candi, the biggest house label in Africa.

At the same time, he released twice a year a new production with Orion signed first to the canadian label home recordings and then on his own one Wot Recordings. It features remix with Antonio David Lyons, Matthias Tanzmann, Swril People, Toka Project, At Jazz, etc... and offers in the same time the opportunity to young South African artists from all community to have an international exposure !

This passion for the love of deep house brought him to travel in Europe and in Asia with great memories At the End in London, At Mood Lounge in Karlsruhe, at Hacienda in Sierre, at Chapeau Rouge in Czech Republic and at 360° in Dubai to name a few !

On the 16th of February 2012, a year later after he left us ! He's still there with us & his music to remember to all of us that we have to follow our passion with love !

Tribute mix for Brett Jackson done by Clive Bean (Soul Candi, Johannesburg)

Cive’s music career started in 1994 with his involvement in his High School events in the East Rand township, Vosloorus. This was highly inspired by his collection of mix-tapes which included the greats like Ganyani, Tokzen and Bob Mabena’s drive time show that played on Radio Bop.This led him to a career in the South African Music Production and Dj Industries in which he has been a recognized payer for the past 15 years ! Clive is currently the Head Dj Lecturer at the Soulcandi Music Institute, in Johannesburg. He has been, to date, employed by Soulcandi Music Group for the past 10 years.

Clive was also involved at 115 by organising a monthly clubnight called Home Cookin where Brett played (check flyer) !

It is with much sadness that we notify South Africa on the passing of a friend, a brother, a son & a legend - Deep House DJ – Brett Jackson. At 5:45am on Wednesday 16 February 2011, at the age of 28yrs old, Brett Jackson lost his b...attle to Hodgkins Lymphoma Cancer at the Pretoria East Hospital. He leaves behind his father Brian, Mom Colleen, Sister Lee & niece Georgia.

REST IN PEACE BRETT JACKSON. YOU ARE LOVED & MISSED BY YOUR FAMILY, FRIENDS & FANS !
